About the role

The Content Director - Brand and Wellness Education will lead the content and editorial function at BON CHARGE - overseeing strategy, storytelling, execution, and innovation across every touchpoint. This is a key leadership role that will partner closely with our PR & Partnerships Director & Creative Director to build a powerful global brand, ensuring content is compelling, consistent, and strategically aligned to support our commercial goals.

This role will lead a cross-functional team of copywriters, content creators, social and community managers, and technical writers, working in close collaboration with SEO specialists, brand, partnerships, and performance teams to deliver omnichannel content at scale. With deep expertise across SEO, social storytelling, video content, and lifecycle marketing, the Content Director will help shape BON CHARGE’s voice and bring our wellness mission to life through high-performing and emotionally resonant storytelling.

Please note that this is an in-office role; you will need to be able to commute to Sydney CBD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the global content team (copy, social, video, and editorial) to deliver high-quality, platform-native content across owned and earned channels.
  • Develop and execute a global content and editorial strategy that supports brand storytelling, SEO, customer education, product marketing, and lifecycle engagement.
  • Serve as BON CHARGE’s internal editorial lead guiding wellness-focused content that balances scientific credibility with accessible storytelling.
  • Partner with the Creative Director to uphold and evolve our visual and verbal brand identity across every touchpoint.
  • Own the development of content calendars and campaign frameworks in line with seasonal, tactical, and product marketing priorities.
  • Build and maintain a robust content library and tone of voice (TOV) guide for internal and external creators.
  • Oversee SEO-informed editorial content (blog, knowledge centre, wellness resources) with a focus on organic growth and customer value.
  • Shape lifecycle marketing content (email/SMS flows) to drive engagement, retention, and education.
  • Collaborate with performance, partnerships, and brand teams to ensure copy and creative support across paid, affiliate, and influencer programs.
  • Integrate community voices, UGC, expert interviews, and storytelling into scalable content formats.
  • Analyse content and channel performance regularly and apply insights to refine future strategy.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in content strategy, editorial leadership, & omnichannel marketing with a strong global wellness background.
  • Deep understanding of global wellness audiences and the ability to localise or nuance messaging across regions.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing high-performing teams across content, editorial, social, and copy.
  • Strong working knowledge of social channels and content, SEO, customer journey mapping, and performance marketing fundamentals.
  • Comfortable owning content calendars, messaging hierarchies, and campaign planning from start to finish.
  • Clear, concise communicator with exceptional writing and editing skills — across scientific, emotional, and commercial tones.
  • Ability to balance storytelling with business objectives in a high-growth DTC environment.
  • Highly organised and comfortable leading in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
  • A deep passion for wellness, content, and helping people improve their quality of life through education and inspiration.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a fast-growing eCommerce, wellness, beauty, lifestyle brand or other DTC brands.
  • A background in social media, journalism, publishing, or editorial is a plus.
  • Experience developing brand TOV and content guidelines from scratch.
